On December 18, 1986, the Cleveland Call and Post included an advertisement for Cuyahoga Community College, the state’s oldest and largest community college: “Get the edge this winter at Tri-C, and you won’t be left out in the cold when it comes to finding a job or planning a career. Now is the time to fire up your future with over 900 courses of study to prepare you for some of today’s best-paid, high-demand fields. They’re all affordable. They’re all convenient. And they’re just what you need to get your snowball rolling.”
