Prominent women, numbering over two hundred, from all over the state attending the meeting. It was the largest delegation that had ever convened since its beginning in 1908.” The group re-elected educator and suffragist Addie Waites Hunton as president and heard speeches from W.E.B. DuBois and anthropologist Ruth Benedict.
