Francois Andre directed local fashion shows and theater performances and was featured regularly in the Sentinel in the 1950s. The newspaper described his April 1959 show, “Male Route ’59,” as “an all-male Fashion and Physical Culture Show,” but noted that the show also included “a bevy of shapely Sweater Girls on Parade as an added attraction.” The photo accompanying the story included muscleman Norm Williams and model Valerie Follins.
